“If you are reproached for the name of Christ, blessed are you, for the Spirit of glory and of God rests upon you. On their part He is blasphemed, but on your part He is glorified” (I Peter 4:14).
My dear child of God! I thank the Lord who has graciously helped me to write about the Holy Spirit, in this section 'Receive the Anointing'.
Last year end, during my prayer time, the Holy Spirit, impressed upon my spirit that His glory shall be revealed in the year 2009. When will His glory be revealed? In answer to this question, I have written a few advices as a promise message.
Apostle Peter had meaningfully named the Holy Spirit, 'Spirit of Glory'. Yes, surely He is the Spirit of glory. There is no doubt that glorious things shall happen in the life of every one who has received the anointing.
RESTS UPON YOU!
“If you are reproached for the name of Christ, blessed are you, for the Spirit of glory and of God rests upon you. On their part He is blasphemed, but on your part He is glorified” (I Peter 4:14).
Dearly beloved! When the Holy Spirit fills you, it is His plan to rest upon you always. He will not rest upon you for a few days or months and then leave you. He will abide in us permanently and live with us. Guests who visit us stay with us for a few days and then depart. Similarly, friends or relatives who come to see us, spend an hour or so with us and then take leave of us. But when the Holy Spirit comes to us, He rests upon us.
Acts 2nd chapter speaks about this. 'Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them' (Acts 2:3).
Yes, He would stay and rest upon us. Dear child of God! The purpose for which the Lord Jesus who completed His ministry and went to heaven and who sent us His Spirit is that He should live with us. There is a beautiful verse in the Bible which says, 'But when that which is perfect has come, then that which is in part will be done away' (I Corinthians 13;10). The word 'perfect' indicates King Jesus, since He is perfect. At the same time, 'in part' or 'lack' denotes 'sin'. The younger son (prodigal son) gathered all together, journeyed to a far country, and there wasted his possessions with prodigal living. The Bible says 'he began to be in want'.
My dear child of God! If you are without thirst and expectations for the anointing of the Holy Spirit, I would like to advise you in the beginning of this New Year, to thirst for the Holy Spirit. Get filled with His anointing every day. Do not grieve the Spirit of Glory who is staying in you. Then all the blessings that went away from your home, shall come back to you and rest in your house. Why? It is because, when the Lord Almighty who created the heaven and earth, stays in you in the form of the Spirit, all the material as well as blessing of the above shall surely rest in your home.
That day, when Jesus said to Zacchaeus, '…today I must stay at your house", he took Him to his house. The first blessing pronounced by Jesus who went there to stay was, "Today salvation has come to this house”.
Dearly beloved! Never forget that when our Lord, who is the Spirit these days, rests upon you, there shall be blessing not only to you but also to your whole family. Above all, the Spirit of glory shall do glorious deeds for you and make you happy. So, with much love, I again tell you to believe in the anointing. Surely He will fill you.
